Yeah, we can't stand close minded judgmental people like you either. You're implying that we either depend on our parents or get government assistance. Well I'm 18, and although I don't have the title of a college graduate I do tend to educate myself as much possible, my partner also has a good job and a flourishing business, and we live in a nice four bedroom home. I believe my child was well deserved, even though I was 15 because even at that age I was having a hard time conceiving. Contraceptives are a choice, and we chose not to use them because we wanted a child. I don't think that I was "too young or stupid" to have sex since we were prepared for the possibility of a child every month.
It's not just you, almost everyone believes that it's okay to trash teenagers who have chosen to keep their babies rather than abort them even if they know nothing about these girls. Anyone having sex can get pregnant and it's people from all social classes and ethnicity. We're not all the same welfare queens that you people assume that we are . Nobody looks at the drama on Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant and thinks that it's the funnest thing ever, especially with all the crying and misery on there. Instead it promotes fathers leaving their pregnant girlfriends, or encourages girls to get abortions rather than to parent. Have you ever actually talked to a teenage mother in person? Most are nowhere near what the media makes us appear like. |
