Why crime is increasing day by day in INDIA.?

It is not increasing day by day, it's just that it's getting reported more by the media now. For instance the rate of rapes wasn't any lower, say in 2011 than now. Women were getting raped all over the country even then and all (electronic) media used to do was show the news at the bottom of the TV screen, they didn't used to give it much importance like they do now by debating over the issue and everything. After the unfortunate gang-rape incident when sad and angry people came out on the streets, only then the media and government came into an active stance. Actually the conditions in different states across India are way different. Here in Himachal crime rates are not high at all and people live good and peaceful lives. It has partially to do with the fact that population of the state is not even 7 million, it's around 6.8 million whereas approximately 200 million people live in UP and another 100 million in Bihar where crime rates are extremely high. So crime is definitely related to the population but, the social environment of a society also has a lot to do with it, if there's a sense of brotherhood and friendliness among the people (himachalis are extremely helpful to each other in everyday life and are very peace-loving in general) crime would definitely decrease. Other than that, the economic condition of a society also affects the number of crimes. There are a lot of factors related to crime but an individual can't really do much about it today. The best thing he can do is to make sure that he and his family are protected in every way.
