I was in a program, and all of a sudden a message popped up that said 'allow remote access"?

The certificate was only partially trusted (it MIGHT have been from Facebook?), and two of the three security things had been checked, just not the last one, that's why it needed my permission. I mindlessly accepted it, and then immediately regretted it.

Since then, I have only been online a few times, and then disconnect from the internet. This morning I unclicked "allow remote access" in settings. How do I know if my computer has been compromised, and is it ok going forward if I have unclicked "allow remote access"? Is there anything else I should do? Thank you!
Gee, thanks, Mike, that was very comforting.

The security scans did come back clean. Did it help that Norton was running the whole time? I don't think it did. Also, would any legitimate site need to access your computer remotely? How did they get that accept/decline message to me in the first place? Thanks again!
