Kids these days????????

I was a 90's kid, so I remember a lot of the "technology" that was out then. It wasn't really aimed at kids like it is now. No one really knew how to aim such a business at children. I remember kids checking their giga pet in the 90's just like they check their iphones now. It's not really any different today. I'm sure your grandparents or great grandparents could tell you about what they had and how it changed.
Most of what I remember playing with as a kid was talking dolls/barbies, those motorized carts, skydancers, and walkmans. We had a computer, but it was only fun for a little while. They only had so much software for kids and it wasn't any fun unless it was a new game. I think the biggest difference is that we didn't actually have the access we have now. Now a whole family can each have their own computer, use the internet at the same time, and share videos/pictures on their cell phones. When I was 8 we had it but it really wasn't interesting like it is now. A lot of the apps are just replacing a more time consuming way to do things. Kind of like how indoor plumbing is so much easier than walking to an outhouse. lol.

EDIT: The person above me reminded me that it was dial up when we first got internet. And we didn't have youtube yet. AOL still had 30 second song clips and they took a LONG time to buffer. Oh and AIM still was the primary instant messaging. Now I remember having to wait for calls before getting online. Then we got the one that bumped you offline when you got a call. That was cool since you didn't have to just wait, even if it did bump you offline. I can't believe how much different it is for me, let alone generations before mine.
