Is language a technological advancement?
I have to write an essay on 1984 by George Orwell, and I have to demonstrate the prevalence of 1984 themes in this essay such as constant observation due to technological advancements or write about how close was Orwell's prediction of the future. I was thinking of saying how language is a technology that 1984 uses to dumb down or limit the individuality of its citizens because they create this language, shrinking it each year to limit words that might lead to crime think (thinking of things against the government) What are your thoughts on this?
