You have some great answers here! Just do not make it more complicated,
First make sure your website is SEO friendly, you will hear a lot of opinions on this because google changes thier rules almost daily. You want to be very careful on the tactics you use because you will hear a lot of promises to get you on page 1 overnite. Google will "sandbox" your site and all your investment will go down the tubes! Stay away from these "blackhat" tactics! It is not worth it.
