The dangers are the legal actions that can be taken against the person downloading the material, even if they're oblivious to the legality of it. There's also the malicious software that is attached to much of the torrented material which creates a vulnerability on the users computer which can enable a hacker access to the users data as well as corruption of the system. The benefits of sites such as Pirate Bay are that they allow a group of users to collaberate and share information through the use of torrent software directed by a torrent site such as Pirate Bay. Each user can be working on a specific area of a project and torrent sites creat a way to collaborate that information.
