My boyfriend wants me to stop talking to my friend :/?

I live in Australia and I have a friend that lives in America (kinda like a pen pal and yes he is older than me by a few years) we just talk about random things like pranks we have pulled on people and school and all that stuff nothing sexual or anything. Anyway my boyfriend is blowing up at me for talking to him and saying if I don't stop talkin to him and delete him then he will leave me I don't know what to do :/ it's not like I'm ever going to meet my friend I'm America all we do is talk on Facebook where as my boyfriend talks to all these girls and goes out drinking with them (he told me today that before we met he had sex with my ex best friend and I honestly am scared that he will do something with one of my friends (well she isn't really a friend tbh I really hate her she wants to become a hooker and she's only 16) but yea) PLEASE HELP I'm crying and I don't know what to do!!!!
