Can anyone who knows about or lives in Japan help me with some teen pregnancy questions?

There is virtually no sex education in Japan. There is a social stigma in Japan because all children must be recorded on a family register and if the child is born out of wedlock it is recorded as "illegitimate" and as such can not get health insurance and can only get half the inheritance of siblings born after marriage. The family reacts in pretty much the same way as they do in other parts of the world when a teen gets pregnant.
Anyway, abortion is easily obtainable here so its usually quietly taken care of. |
