Don't make the mistake of getting her friend involved!
This is between you and her. Don't put her friend in the middle of it - it's an awkward position to be in, and it's not up to this friend to tell you what to do. Her loyalties lie with her friend, and NOT with you. She will do her best to keep out of it and not say the wrong thing. She's right. You need to talk to this girl directly - take ACTION and ask her on a date. If she likes you, then it's very unlikely you blew your chance. If anything, a missed oppotunity to kiss will build anticipation. But if you keep on not taking the initiative and using her friend as the middleman then you WILL blow it.
