Be more confident dude! I swear . . . don't hold back! Ask her out etc. I mean really you have nothing to lose. It sounds like this girl likes you but perhaps you are a little shy! Also she has obviously talked with your other friend about you (good sign) and your friend seems to be encouraging you to do so! Go for it man! Ask her out . . . If you had a long conversation in a bar . . . you must have picked up on some activities she likes . . . start talking/joking/laughing over FB or whatever. Then ask her out . . . simple. Honestly man, if this doesn't work I will give you my address and you can shoot me!
