Its a tablet..

Review from an owner of Kindle Fire, should be helpful on this decision:

You can use it for:
- Watching movies and tv shows
- Listen to music
- Play tons of games
- Read books/ Magazines/ PDFS
- Using various apps for fun and work
- Internet surfing
- Youtube/Facebook/Twitter

Cons:
- App store is limited (You can sideload apps from google play)
- No camera or mic (HD version has both)
