degree courses in media?

It sounds like there are a number of courses that might fit what she's interested in.
Firstly look for film courses, these are mostly theoretical, but some have varying amounts of film production - obviously you're looking for ones that emphasise this aspect.
Media production is another
Or Photography and video ( they usually go together). Or multimedia production (but look for ones which have a visual element, some will emphasise coding and more technical skills). Or television production.
There are courses at places like Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Falmouth, among others.
And new courses are always popping up (and closing) so make sure you check latest information.
On any of these courses ask very probing and precise questions about exactly how many students get jobs in the industry. Don't be swayed by one or two glossy success stories - you need to know what *most* students go on to do. Avoid like the proverbial plague anywhere that won't give clear answers to these questions.
