US Department of Homeland Security Calls On Computer Users To Disable Java. Got yours shut off?
I called Norton and it is true. Actually they said:
Norton: Mike, even we are investigating this claim about a Java hack. As far as Java Microsystems is concerned, their last update indicates that this is just a claim from a hacker with a dubious background. However, just to be sure that you are protected, we advice to disable Java or always run live updates and do a scan. Mike: ok .. thanks. Norton: Still, prevention is better than cure. Norton: I suggest to turn off Java for at least a week for your browser. Make sure thought that you have installed the standalone version of Java so that you can still play facebook games or other games requiring Java.
