How come adults don't seem to see the social part of school?

Well, the older you get the farther away from high school you get and the less it matters. Social life in school is nothing new and has existed as long as public schooling has, bome adults may simply have forgotten what high school was really like or they are at a point in their lives when it seems small, far away and not important in the larger picture of their existence.
That's not to say that social life is not important in high school, because it is: public schools function as socializing agents. You are living it now and that definitely matters for you - right now - but you should also understand that in ten, twenty, forty years you will only remember some things about high school and the social life & drama will only be a distant memory when compared to the entirety of your life - which is precisely what adults are concerned about. |
