Yes, there is.

You can remove the ads by getting a paid account.

All social networking sites have ads to pay for the used bandwidth and server space. If you want LJ to remain in existence, you either live with the ads on your page, or help them out by getting a paid subscription.

Any other means (like trying to hide the ads) will get your account - rightfully - suspended.
