no... because it would be all too easy to manipulate the information and, in the end, you would be promoting knee-jerk response as opposed to educated discourse..
...just look at how elections have evolved over the last decade: Previously, the color of electoral maps switched from election to election in the interest of fairness... But because the whole "Red State/Blue State" thing has become so ingrained in popular culture, no network had the courage to reverse the colors from 2008. Just recently, Brian Williams admitted that "it was ok to run more stories about the economy again" AFTER the election...And did you ever hear the term "fiscal cliff" before the election? Is THIS the type of "information" you want encouraging the electorate in future contests? |
