If my computer is downloading a virus, will exiting out of the page make it stop?

It is probably still on ur comp. Viruses don't need alot of time to download. the best way to stop them from downloading is to disconnect your internet and then click ctrl+alt+delete to open the task manager and quickly end the windows in applications. Then run a full scan on ur comp since viruses tend to hide. I just don't know how u know this is a virus that was downloading.
