Nothing really. I remember my history teacher saying the following the other day though. She said:
"Why is the United States participating in something they can't fix? They tried in Vietnam and got humiliated, and now here? Iraq and Afghanistan are two countries that no matter how much the USA interferes, nothing will change. Other countries have tried to bring peace, but it hasn't given any fruit. Why does the USA keep investing millions..nonono..billions in countries that don't even benefit us? Why don't they just leave Iraq and Afghanistan resolve it on their own? With the money we have lost on a pointless interference, we could've fixed many of our public systems, we would've avoided a recession, we would've built an even stronger economy that could've payed off China. Also, americans seem to complain about the latin immigrants coming into the country. Why doesn't the USA help out their countries (Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, etc.) financially so they can make their countries a better one and that way the USA can also build a stronger border to prevent mass illegal immigration." What she said truly made sense. |
