The direction it is heading.

Well more specifically, if no-one try's to pass gun control, then it would be the debt, because cannot go on forever and will soon cause runaway inflation and thus a huge issue and loss of power for america. If they try to pass gun-control, then stopping that is the first priority because by doing so they render the law-abiding citizens defenseless and thus we have no real control over the government and we are then completely at the mercy of whatever decisions they make.
