How can I shut off automatic updates on the computer?

Go to Control Panel...click on Security Center...click on Automatic udates....but i must warn you in advance...when you turn it off...Norton will give you a pop-up saying that Security Updates are turned off...also on the norton splash screen go to undates setting and there you can have them turned off...The updates comes from Live Updates which are a symantec product..
