do you think these shootings might have more to do with our backwards, unhealthy culture rather than guns?

Yes, our culture is pretty screwed up once you put on your X-ray goggles. It's as embarrassing to be a "virgin" as it is to be a "slut." Sex scenes in movies are more shameful than violent scenes.

I believe part of it has to do with social media though, not just America. The irony is that more technology gives you access to more people, but because of this, this sacrifices actual physical human interaction. Also, people only want to be friends with who they know, feeling awkward and uncomfortable with strangers. We put on our "blinders" in public. I mean think about it - I predict in about a century there will be no more movie-going. People will just watch movies straight from home. Where's the social interaction in that?
