For how long will 1GB of Internet Service last?

It differs for different people, and is based entirely on your usage.

I actually knew a horrible fat cow, who got by with a monthly 1GB, whereas with my 50Mb/s connection, my router logs show around 50GB of usage a month.

When my brother and I lived in Cape Town, where adsl was billed like your wireless, we burned up 3GB in a week between us, and that was with us trying not to use too much. We ran updates from the office, downloaded from McDonald's too (which failed - they have a 100MB limit per customer per day there).

Its basically like this - uploading / downloading video - you'll blow that in a week.

Just using social sites, email, and browsing, hmm, maybe 2 weeks?

The best thing you can do is use Firefox as your browser, and install Ad Block plus, which prevents you streaming all the adverts, which constantly eat away at your data usage.

Remember, these companies will sum your upload and download usage together to determine your usage, so consider installing a Network Monitor program, so you can see where you are with your usage over time.

Hope that helps.
