Does anyone know of an online college university that is actually accredited, accepted, and recognized?

Hi, M.C. I'm Tee Morris and I am the Social Media Manager over at the American Public University System. While it may seem that online university degrees may not be regarded as "real" degrees, many traditional universities and colleges are now stepping into the "online education" market on account of their popularity, affordability, and convenience. As far as how potential employers regard a degree from an online institution against a degree from a traditional college, a story from BrainTrack.com reported in 2011 "What are most important to employers, the study found, are the quality of the education and the reputation of the institution itself."

When shopping around for online degrees though, there are a lot of factors to consider. Accreditation is one of the most important. As for APUS, we are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association (http://www.apus.edu/accreditation-licensure/) and we offer various fields of study ranging from Education to Space Studies to Public Safety. While we have a lot to offer at APUS, this is not a decision you should rush. Do your homework (pardon the pun!), research various institutions, and look at what you can afford. Then take a look at what classes are offered.

If you find a school you're considering on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn, join those circles and asking the communities there what the experience is like. An investment in researching schools will only make your investment in an education more solid.
