what OUTSTANDING skills does a SQL database developer need for web services development?

better have very good T-SQL skills. Performance is so important in those applications, as is dealing with multi-user scenarios and locking issues.

Strong security skills, don't want to give the wrong people access.

Strong coding skills to code up the Webservice. XML skills would then be a must as well.
