Are you seriously suggesting that around seven billion people are to get this tattoo that renders them telepathic? Seven billion telepathic people wandering around saying what they are now aware of?
The three words that have been translated six hundred and sixty six are the Greek words chi, xi, and stigma. However, they look surprisingly similar to Arabic script for the Muslim Shahada. And millions of Islamic fundamentalists are regularly seen in public, wearing either arm-bands or forehead bands with this script on it. One theory goes that John saw Arabic script in his vision and wrote it down. However, when it came time for scribes to copy his manuscript, they thought John had just had a bad-Greek-writing moment, and took it to be chi, Xi sigma, which they wrote down. And so it has come to us today. It will be interesting seeing whether this theory turns out to be true - or not. |
