Perhaps you could convince them by giving them access to your Facebook account, so they can see it's not being used inappropriately. Most people wouldn't want that arrangement, but it's the only honest solution I can think of.
I'm not sure about the Facebook's rules of creating online profile when you're under 18, but assuming it's allowed, you could simply create the profile with your email address. If your email address is private, you could also set your profile to be private, and away from the prying eyes of your parents. I don't recommend that's what you do, but it could be done. Personal suggestion: Maybe listen to your parents on this one, rather than sucking up the hype from your friends. Facebook has become a big waste of time for most people, and there's better ways of keeping in touch with your friends than by trading your personal information on a big company's network. Once you post something dumb online (hey, we do it) it's possible that it'll be there forever. |
