About the piece, I think you can take 'creator of Facebook' out of parenthesis. First because most people know that he is but if you use it, just put a comma there. I think it's quite understandable that you would include the negatives on Facebook, especially considering the reason you are writing the essay to begin with. I'm not sure I agree with the superficial friend comment - I think because I'm friends with many people I don't know in real life. We just have common interests so I don't try to get to know them personally, but I'm still interested in what they have to say. Still if that's your experience, keep it in because it can be very difficult to communicate online - regardless of the forum.

I think the ending is great the way it is.
