Ladies: What reasons would a woman I don't know have for adding as a friend on Facebook?

Yesterday I had a woman I don't know if person add me on Facebook. I recognize her as someone from the community, but we only share one mutual friends, and no other connections as far as I can tell. She didn't message me first or anything else.

I went ahead and added her after we exchanged a couple brief messages. Looking at her profile, I can't see anything obvious about her relationship status, but it appears she is single. She also does not appear to be an active FB user.

As a general rule I tend to be careful about adding people I don't know in real life, for a number of different reasons. But I am curious.

This may seem like an obvious question, but I'm still curious to hear the answers.
