1. Maybe you've saved your fb password in browser and then changed it...it freezes trying to match the two.
2. Or maybe You were trying to type password before the page was completely loaded. Auto complete remembers your name so you simply select it and start typing password when the said is still loading, If this is not then try login from here http://www.facebook.com/login.php
instead of http://www.facebook.com
sometimes the main page loads slow.
