What A level subject should I take to become a nurse?

Minimum entry requirements for nursing vary between each university but the lowest requirements are C in Maths, English and Science at GCSE. You’d be a very weak candidate if you don’t have Biology A-level since at least one science is strongly preferred among A-level subjects. As a result I suspect you’ll be quite limited with your university choices. Another question you might want to ask yourself: if you only achieved a C in your science subjects, do you think you’ll be able to cope with a nursing course?

As for the subjects you have chosen, English is fine, media studies is irrelevant and generally not sought after at all so I highly recommend you swap it with another subject. While you could draw some connections between nursing, psychology and sociology, the two subjects are quite similar to each other so I’d change one of them. Look at the entry requirement on university websites and email them for their opinion.
