Have you ever noticed on the right of your screen there are ads? Under some of them, you should see something like "John Doe Likes this" (John Doe being one of your FB friends. This is one way FB monitors you. It logs every "Like" and sells these to advertisers. The advertiser then uses your friends likes to try to get YOU to like the product or store.
