I need opinions! Facebook Dating?

Okay I was thinking about dating someone over facebook but I wanted to get to know him just like anyone who's going to date someone. So I know a couple of my friends who met guys over facebook and they became a couple matter of fact my one friend shes 14 and she met this boy (hes I think 15 or 16) over facebook and they started talking and now their a couple n they almost been going out for 2 weeks but im the same age as her but I wanna know is would u date someone over facebook even tho u never seen them in person. Oh n btw my friend never meet him in person yet. But shes planning to soon
