facebook help/advise?

So I'm really into this guy, as far as I know, hes not aware of it. I see him about 2-3 times a month and we're really not that close, but we're acquaintances. hes really nice to me, and hes a really sweet guy from what I know. but, when I added him on facebook, the request was sent for a few hours, but now its back to "add friend" and it doesn't make sense to me.. why would he deny my request? So my question is, is it possible that maybe my request didn't go through? idk maybe im just denying the facts that he doesn't like me because I like him so much? ugh
