Has anyone bought facebook likes in conjunction with a facebook advertising campaign?

Businesses generally don't care about what's unethical; they only care about profit. So the only thing that would dissuade someone from buying facebook likes is if it not only doesn't fulfill the purpose of buying them, but defeats them.
Does buying facebook likes help? No, it hurts.
Why is someone trying to get you to buy them? Because, they want your money. They'll lie to you - e.g. tell you that there is some mysterious force out there called "critical mass" that causes people to like a facebook page if they see it already has lots of likes (which is false: there is no research which proves that anyone is more likely to like a facebook page if it already has a lot of likes).
What is the result of buying facebook likes for your page?

People who are dumb enough to buy into the idea that people are more likely to click "like" on a facebook page just because lots of other people have done it, perhaps deserve the result of buying facebook likes.

Its a just punishment for someone who is willing to cut corners and to be stupid and careless and dishonest.

The problem is that some people are even stupider than that and go and buy facebook likes for their friend's pages, too.

That happened to me - a bean brained friend of mine who thinks he knows everything went and spent all of two minutes researching how to promote a facebook page.

He went on the crooked website fiverr.com, and bought over 2,000 likes for both his page AND my page, and ruined both of our pages - all without consulting me.

The guy is an idiot and didn't even do anything to fix the problem. He just went silent. Its never a good idea to pass the buck or shun responsibility when you're trying to do something worth while.

Going and buying BS facebook likes is just that: someone trying to shun responsibility for their own success.

Other people get hurt, too. Its not just you.

Think before you cut corners.
