that just means that the link brings you to their timeline... their profile - it's the same thing

it's to make you not confuse someone's timeline/profile with a page that has the same name

apparently there are a lot of malicious little kids out there who are trying to create problems by using real peoples' names as the name of their page, and this is facebook's way of preventing them from getting away with it
