Negative physical and mental effects of social media?

Social media eats away at all the good things that living in a social group entail. It is living together that makes us honest, caring, have a conscience, want to help others, be responsible etc......all because if we do not, the rest of the social group will know. Social media takes that away, anyone can do anything, however rotten, because no one can hold you reponsible. If they know it is you, nothing can be done anyway.
Social media also belittles the value of family and friends (real ones). Family can drive you crackers but they are there, real and love you. On line friends are not real, they offer platitudes and cliches, and leave people feeling they casn only survive in the world of social media. Some young people do not know how to make friends and meet new people.
