What is the point of Twitter?

Why the hell would anyone care that you just bought a new book? Why would anyone give a hoot that you just got to work? So what if your favorite team just scored a goal!??!?

Is the entire western world suffering from some sort of multiple-personality disorder and think they are a movie star that others would want to follow around?? Nobody cares what you do, where you go, or who you went with. In fact, you could drop DEAD right this second, and maybe a handful of people might mourn for a week, the rest of the world could care less.

At some point people will have to realize that other people just don't care what they do right?

The whole Facebook/Twitter crap makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
China is worth considering for a number of reasons, Twitter being the least of them. For one, they own 46% of the US...That's right. 46% of US bonds held are in China...and THEY will be the first paid after this shutdown...not the military, vets, or social security. Second, they will surpass the US in 2015 as the new superpower. All of the economic growth is there.

Now, most Americans who are smart, move to Taiwan or Singapore, but it is changing so quickly that there is now a booming "Americantown" in Beijing. So think twice before you knock China... They own half your ass.
