What happens to an account online that is not even in use but u just leave it there?

It would depend on that website's policy on inactive accounts. Some webmasters purge(delete) accounts that have not been logged into for a certain amount of time to free up resources on their servers. Very large websites like Facebook that have immense server resources just allow inactive accounts to exist in the hope that the user will return eventually and some even send out "We miss you emails" urging you to log in if you have not logged in for a long time. You could send the website's administrator an email asking about the policy on inactive accounts or you could look through the FAQ if they have one. I hope this has helped you.
