How to get YM to release email into Thunderbird?

It may be that Thunderbird uses IMAP and the last update stated that Yahoo was still trying to restore IMAP services. As you know, Yahoo recently encountered some unexpected problems while undergoing routine maintanence on the site and as a result, many users could not access their Yahoo Mail. Yahoo is still trying to fix these issues.
