Are you sure you "Permanently Deleted" your old facebook account, or did you just "Deactivate" your facebook account? If you Permanently Deleted the facebook account, after 14 days without you logging into the account, it is then "officially" deleted and can never be reactivated. A Deactivated facebook account can be reactivated at any time by simply logging into the account again by using the same email address and password as before. The Deactivated account will be "grayed" out to anyone viewing your account. You can always check with facebook's Help Center if you have any questions or concerns about your old account.
