Man I loved lied to me. Need advice please.?

My ex and I have been in contact for the last couple of months, and last week he called me up and asked me out to spend all day together: lunch, movie, park, dinner. The next day he called and cancelled from work, saying he had to work late and couldn't drive one hour north to Seattle. ?

Just now I discovered through my Facebook page in News Feed, that he attended a Christmas party in a club in Seattle that same day, and was within 3 miles of where I live. He was bragging about how he made it to work early the next morning on the event page despite he was drunk, and had joined the event 2 weeks earlier. I was heartbroken because he lied, and was in Seattle totally clueless. I would've just liked the truth. This guy is someone I've known for a long time and met in college. I just tried talking to him about this, and so I confronted him through text, but he didn't even apologize or try talking for lying to me. He also blocked my number when I tried calling for an explanation. He just said we should both walk away. It hurt to be led on and broadsided like this. It seems like he did it to hurt me.

What's the best way to handle this situation, and get through this? Any useful and/or positive prospective/feedback would be nice.
