School/work are some of the best places to meet people.

If you don't have a bachelors degree, I would recommend taking classes. You could go to a local community college if you don't have the money or credentials for another one. Every college also has plenty of groups and extra curricular activities to involve yourself with.

If you do have a degree, then maybe you should try applying to/switching to a job where you would find some like-minded people.
