More often its the spree killers that are the intelligent recluse. Serial killers kill many people but over the course of many years... even decades and can be quite outgoing personalities.
I am no psychologist, but my casual observation of spree killers is that their reclusive lifestyle stems from being shy and socially awkward for whatever reason. This makes them a target for bullies and can continue on into adulthood. When one lacks social coping skills and is bulled long enough... it is no wounder why some break and go nuts. Its a failure in our society in general that allows such rigid conformity to persecute and ostracize those who do not fit in. I am not justifying what spree killers do, but they were likely victims before they themselves victimized others. Its something that can be prevented and we should be doing so much more. That's just the way that I see it but I could be wrong. |
