Batista must win the battle royal or have other rivalries?

I agree with Peter; Batista has already done everything there is to do in the WWE. Winning the Rumble won't do anything for him.

And the WWE bringing back past stars to dominate the roster (and the current top stars) after being away from wrestling for years, is getting old. Rather than making the past stars look awesome it's really making the WWE's current top stars look bad that they can get dominated and beaten by guys who haven't wrestled in years. Yeah, Lesnar and Batista have been doing MMA but the WWE doesn't exactly give out a whole lot of information about it; they'd rather we just forget about it.

Batista's in his forties and won everything there is to win in the WWE. He should now be "giving back" by helping to build for tomorrow's WWE, by feuding with the WWE's top (and potentially top) stars and building their reputations. A win over Batista is a big feather in a wrestler's hat.

You mention Alberto Del Rio. Great example. Batista beating Alberto doesn't do much for Batista but Alberto beating Batista gives Alberto some major bragging rights. Alberto is not at Batista's level (of stardom) so Batista can help him with that. Batista vs Orton is really just a "special attraction" match, like the first Rock vs Cena match. Orton is on the same level as Batista, neither of them gains much by a win over the other. But it would be a great "special attraction" match for a PPV.

Batista could help build some other WWE guys with the potential to become PPV-selling main eventers. Wade Barrett and Antonio Cesario are two. Similar in size to Batista, they'd make for some pontentially great matches.

At Batista's age and stage in his career he doesn't need to be coming back (for how long anyway?) and winning tournaments and major events. His "street cred" should be used to build main event stars for the future. How long IS he back for? Is he going to do the same as Lesnar? Wrestle a couple of times then head off to something else? The WWE HAS to stop paying these guys millions of dollars for a couple of matches and a PPV or two and instead use them to help build the stars for tomorrow.
