And the left wing media HELPED HIM perpetrate this fraud on the public. They published manufactured evidence that the news organizations had fabricated themselves to fan the flames of this hysteria.

And when they got caught, the media execs just shrugged their shoulders and said "It sold newspapers." They were not the least bit sorry or repentant. Nobody got punished in any way.
