Can you add friends in minecraft?

1) If you're playing on a console (Xbox 360/PS3) your friends may only be added to the friends list tied to your account respective to that service. If you're playing the PC version, there is no friends list; you'd have to manually keep track of who you know and who you don't.

2) You'd have to find a way of getting in contact; console games generally allow this, but for the PC version, you'd have to have somewhere to keep in contact with your friends, whether that's social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook, blogs such as Tumblr or Wordpress; instant messenger services such as Skype, or screen sharing services such as Join.me or Team Viewer. There are plenty of means to keeping in contact; it's up to you how you'd do just that. Smile

3) Each version of Minecraft is locked to that specific platform. There's no way of inviting, say for example, a PC player to an Xbox 360 Minecraft session unless they also have the Xbox 360 edition themselves.
