i think pinterest is more like flickr in a way. its not a social site, where you can talk and meet new people. its more of where you can find new ideas to be creative.
whereas instagram is limited to pictures and videos, tumblr is anything and everything from arts to fandom to music. its your own blog and you can reblog other peoples posts and post your own stuff
