Why is "he's an engineer" an excuse for bad social skills?
My boss is a bit socially awkward, and I've heard my coworkers discuss it. At one point, someone said "What do you expect? He's an engineer."
That also happened when the CEO asked me to use my creativity for some marketing stuff. He said he and my boss couldn't think of anything because "we're engineers." Why is being an engineer associated with lack of creativity and poor social skills? I went to a 4-year university as well. Granted, my major was in the humanities, but I knew engineering majors and they still had plenty of time to party. Ads |
