Depends on his other behaviors I would say. Does he still talk to you as much as he did? Or does he seem pre-occupied nowadays? If he is starting to get noticeably more distant with you then it might be cause for concern. But if not I would say not need to stir up trouble where there is none. When moving to a new place and starting a business its important to network and increase his clientele, so he may actually just be making connections.

I would say look at the ratio of girls to guys and also their age range. Could they be potential costumers? Or potential friends he may choose to hang out with?

Overall trust your gut. If it says there is something fishy going on, confront it. Even if its a simple "Hey, being a girlfriend that is far a way from you, it makes me a little uncomfortable with a bunch of hot girls popping up as your friends." Let him know how it makes you feel and how a long distant relationship can be difficult on both ends. Also ask him how he would feel if you started being friends with a bunch of random guys all of a sudden. That can at least put him in your shoes
